At the warm-up session of the Forum Dr. Marina Larionova presented an overview of the G20 work on promoting gender equality and empowering women for economic growth on the base of the ongoing project results with G20 effectiveness assessment as well recommendations on strengthening G20 cooperation in this sphere. Dr. Marina Larionova also shared with the participants the B20 gender-related activities and recommendations.

In his statement Alexander Shokhin emphasized that assessments of business climate in Russia by international experts and Russian business are different. Russian companies are mostly concerned by a number of barriers including high fiscal burden, prices and tariffs increase, difficulties with access to credit resources as well as lack of qualified personnel. Foreign companies working in Russia are concerned mainly with administrative barriers and lack of protection of property rights.

Russia supports the Indian BRICS presidency initiative to organize a large exhibition and fair on the eve of the Leaders summit in October 2016. Russia also believes that its initiatives elaborated in 2015, in particular on advancing export supplies insurance and reinsurance mechanism, establishment of BRICS rating agency, deepening joint research, use of national currencies in payments between BRICS member countries will be further developed and implemented.

The first part of the event was devoted to the regional and integration projects implemented in these regions, including the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) and other free trade zones, Silk Road Economic Belt, Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and coordinating development of EAEU and Silk Road Economic Belt. Aleksey Maslov, Head of the School of Asian Studies of the National Research University Higher School of Economics moderated the discussion.
