UN Global Compact Network Russia

UN Global Compact is a voluntary initiative based on CEO commitments to implement universal sustainability principles and to take steps to support UN goals.

UN Global Compact work on creating a sustainable and inclusive global economy that delivers lasting benefits to people, communities and markets.

To make this happen, the UN Global Compact supports companies to:

Do business responsibly by aligning their strategies and operations with Ten Principles on human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption; and

Take strategic actions to advance broader societal goals, such as the UN Sustainable Development Goals, with an emphasis on collaboration and innovation.

The Global Compact in Russia was launched in November 2001 during a round table organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs in partnership with UNDP and other UN agencies. Since then Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs jointly with UNDP focused their efforts on developing an active network in Russia.

In 2015-2016 UN Global Compact Network was transformed into Association. The number of Russian participants of the UN Global Compact is dynamically growing, its status reaches 77 companies and organizations including RSPP. (UN Global Compact Network)

The priorities of the UN Global Compact Association in Russia are:

Introduction and integration of the 10 principles of the Global Compact in human rights, labor, environment and anti-corruption activities of participants in the network.

Organizational and institutional development network.

Promoting the performance of the network members and involvement Russian business community in the initiative.
